Valentine Reunion

Uncle Lew's descendants are planning a reunion in August. Fiorello LaGuardia in the center is not one of them but everybody else in the 1934 photo is a Valentine relative.

Losses and Gains

An obituary from the Bucks County, Pennsylvania Courier Times:

A photo of the Ault Colorado Libary Board. Beth at bottom right was secretary.

She was active with her local public library, and served on the Board of Trustees at the Northern Public Library in Ault. Elizabeth also was an animal lover and active with animal rescue efforts in Ault. She was a daughter of the late Edward F. and Dorothy McNally Koch; and sister of the late Edward A. Koch.

She is survived by her sister, Cathleen M. Koch of Arlington, Va.; a niece; and three nephews.

Beth, whose 45th birthday would be tomorrow, was buried with her parents and brother in Yardley, Pennsylvania at St. Ignatius Cemetery.

But the good news is the Bentleys have another family member.
Joan's youngest daughter Maggie gave birth to Charlotte Grace last Saturday March 12th.
Charlotte has an older brother Josh.

St. Patrick's Day Irish

Last St. Patrick's Day when I was berated for not having on enough green, I gave my usual: "My eyes are green and besides I am really Irish so I don't have to wear green."

The Chicago River on St. Patrick's Day

As soon as I said it (and I'd said it for decades) I realized I am not really Irish. I am at best 1/4 Irish. No more Irish probably than friends named Holzclaw or Waldvogel.

Only 1/2 Irish....
And then there is the other side.

But if you are part McNally, part Valentine and part Daly--- being Irish trumps everything else.

It seems this Irish woman just rolled over any other nationalities.

We're Irish.
Want to make something of it?

Look-Alikes

Who looks most like Grandma?

I say Maureen (2 pictures on the right)

I remember much discussion of who looked most like Grandpa when we were kids.

Around our house it was William B hands down.

And then there's Tommy on the right

Jane looks a lot like her Dad (he's on the left)

And I look a lot like my Aunt Patty.

Do you have more look-alike suggestions?
